Privacy Policy
Effective 6 August 2026
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers two different groups of people, because Tally reaches them differently: business owners and staff who use the Tally app to run their shop, and visitors to our websites (tally.acloe.com, receipts.acloe.com), including anyone who submits our inquiry form or opens a receipt link. Acloe Technology Ventures ("Acloe," "we," "us") is the data controller for the information described below.
2. What we collect
From a business using Tally: business name, phone number, email, and address; branch names and addresses; a business logo, if one is uploaded; VAT registration status where relevant; and staff accounts (phone number and assigned role — owner, manager, clerk, or accountant).
Sales data entered through the app: products and stock levels, orders and their line items, payment method and amount, and — where a business chooses to record them — customer and supplier names, phone numbers, addresses, and running credit balances.
Device and security information: a device identifier and hardware-backed attestation key used to recognize a device that's already been approved for a business, so a sale can't be run from an unrecognized device without going through approval again.
From our websites: if you submit the "Get started" form on tally.acloe.com, we collect the business name, contact name, phone number, and any message you enter. If you open a receipt link on receipts.acloe.com, no account or personal information is required to view it.
3. How we use it
- To operate Tally — process sales, sync data across a business's branches and devices, and enforce the access each staff role is meant to have.
- To send digital receipts by SMS or WhatsApp when a business chooses to send one.
- To verify sign-in with a one-time code, and to recognize approved devices.
- To respond to inquiries submitted through our websites.
- To bill for the subscription and enforce the plan a business is on.
We don't sell personal data, and we don't use a business's sales data to advertise to its customers.
4. Who we share it with
We share data with the vendors that make the service work: SMS and WhatsApp delivery providers, to send one-time codes and receipts; and infrastructure providers that host our servers and database. These vendors only receive what they need to perform that function and aren't permitted to use it for their own purposes. We don't share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the security of the service.
5. How long we keep it
We keep a business's data for as long as its account is active. If a business cancels, we retain its data for a reasonable period in case the business wants to resume, then delete it, except where we're required to retain records for legal or tax purposes.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. For a business owner, this includes your business's data as a whole; for a customer or supplier recorded inside someone else's Tally account, that request is best directed to the business you dealt with, since they control what's entered — but you can also reach us directly and we'll help route it. Contact [email protected] for any of this.
7. Security
Sign-in requires a one-time code sent to your phone. Each device gets its own local PIN lock and, on supported platforms, a hardware-backed attestation key, so access isn't just a password someone could guess or reuse. Staff only see what their assigned role permits.
8. Children
Tally is a business tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to how we handle personal data, we'll let account owners know before it takes effect.
10. Contact
For anything in this policy, reach us at [email protected].
